Biography
Joke Silva Jacobs was born on 29 September 1961 in Lagos, Nigeria. She studied at the University of Lagos and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She became one of Nigeria's most respected stage and screen actresses and, with her husband Olu Jacobs, co-founded Lufodo Group, which includes a production company and the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts.
She has acted in numerous Nollywood films and stage productions and has directed and produced theatre and film. She has been a vocal advocate for formal training and professionalism in the Nigerian arts and for women's leadership in the sector.
